Overview

The SR64 Adapter is essential for the proper operation of the X3SR64 Headstage. It features active electronic circuitry that conditions and merges headstage communication, which typically requires two separate HDMI cables. Unlike the standard X3SR32 headstage, which uses LVDS signal lines that require double the number of signal pins, the SR64 Adapter converts LVDS signal pairs into single-ended CMOS signals.
This allows it to drive four RHS2116 chips, which make up the X3SR64 headstage, using a single KonteX HDMI cable. The adapter has been meticulously designed and tested to ensure the reliable performance of the X3SR64 Headstage.

Getting Started

1. Connect two HDMI headstage ports from a compatible XDAQ to the input ports of the SR64 Adapter using the included KonteX 80cm HDMI cable. A longer cable, such as the KonteX 3M HDMI cable, can also be used.
2. Ensure the Power LED is illuminated, which indicates that the XDAQ is providing sufficient power to the adapter.
3. Connect the X3SR64 headstage to the headstage port of the SR64 Adapter. While the 80cm HDMI cable is recommended, testing has confirmed that the KonteX 3M HDMI cable can be used between the SR64 Adapter and the X3SR64 Headstage.

Compatible commutator

Currently, there are no off-the-shelf commutators compatible with the SR64 Adapter. Customers requiring a commutator solution for the X3SR64 Headstage can contact KonteX to request a custom motorized commutator with an integrated SR64 adapter.
