Overview

The X6R line is KonteX’s high-channel-count X-Headstage™, engineered for advanced neural recording applications requiring 128 channels or more. Despite its high channel density, the X6R maintains a compact form factor, approximately 10 mm x 10 mm and only a few millimeters thick, making it ideal for space-constrained experimental setups.

Armor

Optional protective covers are available for each headstage, offering extra protection and anchoring. These covers, crafted from Polyoxymethylene (POM), are lightweight and resistant to chemicals. There are three standard armor types, with options for customization in shape and material to suit diverse experimental requirements. It's important to note that the size, weight, and shape of these armors will differ across various X-Headstage™ models.

    S Armor

    The S armors with ear loops around the side used to anchor headstage to the accessories such as electrode adapters.

    M Armor

    The M armors are designed to provide protection while maintaining minimal size.

    IP Armor

    The IP armors are designed to provide the most protection and fully encase the X-Headstage. The X-Headstage™ with the optional parylene coating has been tested to the IP68 standard.




Compatible Acquisition System

The X6R X-Headstage™ delivers optimal performance when paired with the XDAQ™ system. It is also adaptable for use with a range of open-source hardware and proprietary systems, although signal remap adapters may sometimes be required. Below is a list of known compatible systems; dditional unlisted platforms may also be capable of supporting the X6R:

  • Open-Ephys acquisition box
  • NeuroNexus Smartbox
